1st Degree Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Reduced to 4th Degree Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct
July 2025
Attorney Christopher Fogt represented a client who was involved a tumultuous relationship. After her boyfriend called police, she was charged with Domestic Violence and Assault, first-degree misdemeanors. If convicted, she was facing the possibility of up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. Our client was concerned about how the charges could impact the custody case involving her children. Fortunately, Attorney Fogt managed to get the charges reduced to one count of Disorderly Conduct, which is a non-violent offense and only a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Client received no jail time or probation. She was ordered to refrain receiving any future convictions for two years.
Client was happy.
